Dinosaurs

by Walter Miedema, Staff Poet
	The dinosaurs
		have not departed.
	Undead
		they masquerade
	as overpasses,
	Sweeping
		sauropodian
			curves
	in reptilian highways,
	Silently
		snaking their
			way
	under our wheels and feet.

	They survive
		on hours
	and minutes,
		On the transient vegetation
	of our travels,
	as we unwittingly
		feed them
	the gaps and commutes
		of our lives.
